Biona pasta is made in a traditional Pastificio in the Dolomite mountains of Northern Italy. Our ingredients are simple - only the best quality organic Durum Wheat and Alpine water.
These farfalle cook up perfectly al dente and hold their shape beautifully, even in a hearty sauce. It's clear the durum wheat is top quality, and you can taste the difference from the usual boxed pasta.
The Alpine water really does make a difference—the pasta tastes cleaner and more delicate than the usual supermarket stuff. Cooked up al dente in exactly 9 minutes and held its shape beautifully in a light lemon sauce.
These butterfly shapes feel properly dense and bitey, not the flimsy stuff you get in most supermarkets. Boiled them for nine minutes and they still had that nice al dente chew, which tells me the durum wheat is genuinely good.
