The black rice gives it such a beautiful deep color once cooked, and the two textures together make the creamiest risotto I've made at home. It's sturdy enough to hold its bite even after a good stir, which is exactly what I want.
The two rice varieties cook up at different rates, so I had to stagger the liquid a bit, but the nutty black rice against the creamy arborio made a gorgeous two-tone texture. A 500g pack gave me enough for three solid weeknight dinners.
The black Venus rice keeps its color and bite even after a long simmer, which makes the finished dish look as good as it tastes. Both rices cooked up evenly in about 18 minutes, and the organic certification was a nice peace of mind for a weekday dinner.
